With this GPS-enabled phone, you'll be able to access Verizon's VZ Navigator service (additional charges applicable) for voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions, heads-up alerts, local search of nearly 14 million points of interest in the US (such as landmarks, restaurants and ATMs), and detailed color maps. And Verizon's Chaperone service lets you easily locate your loved ones from your Verizon Wireless phone or PC in real time. The phone has a 63 MB internal memory and offers memory expansion up to 8 GB using optional microSD memory cards. The enV2's built-in address book can store up to 1000 contacts, and each entry can store 5 numbers, 2 email addresses, and a picture ID. The phone comes with 23 unique polyphonic ringtones, and it has vibrate and silent modes when you need to keep things quiet. The phone lets you match pictures with callers to identify them, and the enV's voice recognition software supports voice commands from any user, not just a pre-programmed user's voice. What's more, many of the phone's functions can be controlled by the sound of your voice, thanks to advanced voice recognition technology. Text-to-speech technology enables the enV to read emails and text messages to you, if you so desire.

They did give me a new enV2 and it's just as bad. Most of the features on this phone are ok except for the keyboard lock. This is very annoying since many of the calls it makes are to my wife. The phone has made dozens of calls while it was (supposedly) locked and in my pocket or the holster. I took the original unit back to the Verizon store where I bought it and they refused to give me a differenct model i.e., flip phone. She answers her phone, sees it's me and can't hear anything. Don't buy this one.

This doesn'tdo so too well, but I'll more than deal with it.For any potential Verizon customers seeking this phone the onlywarning I have is this: Beware of some of their customizable ringtonesand wallpapers and other expensive "extra" features.Neither the website nor the applications on the phone will givethe total length of a ringtone for example, so you are sometimesleft wondering whether the preview you heard is the whole thingor just a portion. It's alsofairly customizable and offers plenty of features and gamesfor an equally fair price.Both the interior and exterior screens are superb, and the buttons work well, although the interior keys are a littlestiff. At last, Verizon was able to have a phone that I really wanted.After playing around with this lovely Env2 at a verizonstore I decided to go for it, and boy was it a good choice.The Env2 pretty much has all of the typical features of cellphones these days: calendar, alarm clock, calculator, tipcalculator, email and limited web surfing features. Some ringtones are 5 seconds long for 2.99, others will be 10-15seconds for the same price. I'm sure after some use they'll become easier to hit.Voice clarity is also excellent and the service here iswonderful in the NJ area.Text messaging is a breeze with the qwerty keyboard and theinterior screen is very large making texting much faster andeasier than it ever used to be.My biggest issue with the phone itself is the exterior volume seems a little weak compared to my previous phone(a Motorola withNextel/Sprint). I'm the kind of person who likes the volumeloud enough to be heard over the roar of the shower or throughmy layer of jacket and shirts if I'm outside. Some of the wallpaper applications require you to pay before actually seeing whether or not you would actually want any of them.All in all however, this is a great phone for those of us whoaren't ready/don't want to embrace the touch screen generation of phones. Aside from some borderline ripoff ringtone/game/wallpaperfeatures the Env2 works smoothly and comes at a fair price.

Love my cute little phone. Has awesome features. The ONLY thing I don't like is the crappy video quality compared to my previous razr which was much better.

I only use it for voice and text, but it is excellent for these applications. I've been pretty loyal to Nokia for a long time, but when it came time to update my phone, there were no Nokias availible. This was the best price for the size and layout I was looking for, and I'm very happy with it.It fills the hand without being too thick or blocky, and the keys, on the number pad and on the QWERTY keyboard, have a good feel when used. Opening it up for the QWERTY keyboard, it has a good size and very readable screen, and the menus for the applications are fairly intuitive after a couple of missteps.Good phone.VanE.M. Van Court

The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the keypad lock is essentially useless. I really like this phone. LG would be better off having you put in the last four digits of your number, like you have to do when you manually lock the phone, rather than just hitting OK twice that is way too easy. It's user friendly, the reception is great, and the ringtone sounds are good as well. I am relatively new to texting on a regular basis, but I love this phone for texting. The first few days I had the phone I made several calls and did not realize it. I now manually lock the phone, but it'a pain when you have to go through several menus to lock the phone after every call or text.
